The CSE style manual outlines different ways to cite sources in a scientific paper, including parenthentical references (similar to APA style) and numbererd citations. CSE style is the successor to the CBE (Council of Biology Editors) style. When citing sources for a paper, follow your instructor's preferences.
For more information, see: CSE documentation systems site (by Diana Hacker) or consult the manual.
