Finding Books in the Library

Use the OneSearch: Books & Media (CSU Stanislaus) to search for terms on your topic.

* Good terms to use might be mythology or tales or folklore and the name of the country or content, for example:

  • tales and africa
  • mythology and china
  • native americans and folklore

* Use the call number to locate the book in the library:

Main Stacks (Turlock) =  Bookstacks (2nd & 3rd floors)

Reference Collection = behind Collaboratory (by Reference Desk)

Juvenile Collection  = Children's books on 3rd floor bookstacks (between K and L)

Show holdings OR No Full Text  = Not immediately available

Searching for Books

To Limit to Books in OneSearch:

Option A:

1) Go to the Library Home Page

2)  Click "Library Catalog" (underneath the OneSearch box)

Option B:

1) Go to the Library Home Page

2)  Under the "Books" (in the top menu bar), choose Books & Media (CSU Stanislaus).

Option C:

1) Go to the Library Home Page

2) Type a search in OneSearch

3) On the results page, on the right side of the search box

i) Change "Everything" to "Books & Media (CSU Stanislaus)

ii) Click the magnifying glass to re-executed the search

Option D:

1) Go to the Library Home Page

2) Type a search in OneSearch

3) On the results page:

i) Under Resource Type, click "Books"

ii) Under Available at Stanislaus, choose "Available in the Library"
